Trends in the Hospitality Construction Industry

Greg Daviscourt is an accomplished Colorado construction professional whose experience spans three decades. Since 2001, he has served as president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Construction Company. Under the guidance of Greg Daviscourt, the company offers many services such as hospitality construction.

The hospitality construction industry continues to experience new trends as a result of changes in consumer preferences. The shift in tastes has impacted how hotels choose their building materials, interior designs, lobbies, and artwork, among others. Below are some of the latest construction trends have impacted the hospitality industry.:

1. Going Green

As the need for environmental conservation increases, more buildings including hospitality facilities are opting to go green. With climate degradation becoming a major concern across the globe, the hotel construction industry is beginning to focus on how to adopt green building techniques. This includes having less waste on site and putting in place measures on how to deal with waste on construction sites.

2. Multifunctionality

Nowadays, most hotels are embracing multipurpose spaces as they are the way to go. Redesigning of hotel spaces is meant to accommodate various types of seating groups which have led to the incorporation of lightweight pieces that can be moved depending on guests and the nature of the function. Flexible configurations also allow hotels to maintain and work around their designs for a longer period of time. Interior layouts can also be easily updated without having to invest heavily in new designs.

3. Smart Technology in Rooms

Technology is becoming a major trend in the hospitality industry as the new generation of clients want smart rooms with the capability to control temperature, lighting, and operate smart entertainment gadgets. Numerous hotels have already begun incorporating technology into their plans and designs to pave way for the construction of smart rooms.

Role of Food Banks in Addressing Food Insecurity

For more than three decades, construction professional Greg Daviscourt has leveraged his industry experience to successfully oversee multiple construction, restoration, and renovation projects. For nearly two decades, he has served as the president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Construction Company. Greg Daviscourt is also involved in giving back to the community by supporting various projects including food banks.

Food banks play a major role in ensuring food security as they help to distribute both purchased and donated foodstuffs to a wide section of low-income families. Food insecurity tends to significantly affect those who are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Ideally, food banks are supposed to cater to those experiencing temporary food insecurity as a result of varying circumstances. However, in recent times, these facilities have had to accommodate individuals and families experiencing long-term food insecurity as many of them rely on food banks as their primary sources of food.

Even though food banks have played a critical role in helping to address the rising food insecurity in communities, they still face numerous types of challenges. Among the major concerns are the rising number of food bank clients, lack of sufficient donations to match the rising demand, and lack of adequate training for food bank staff to provide nutritional advice to their clients. If operational resources are properly catered for and client needs are well identified and addressed, food banks can play a greater role in helping to address food insecurity.

Complex and High-Performance Aircraft

The CEO of the award-winning Rocky Mountain Construction Company, Greg Daviscourt has been serving in the industry for three decades. He provides renovation, restoration, and construction services to many companies across the continental United States and Alaska. Greg Daviscourt is also a pilot who specializes in high-performance aircraft.

Before 1997, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) considered high-performance and complex aircraft to be aircraft with at least 200-horsepower engines or a controllable pitch propeller and retractable gear and flaps.

However, the FAA has created separate definitions for both high-performance and complex aircraft. High-performance is now considered aircraft with a greater than 200-horsepower engine, which rules out numerous planes that previously were in this category.

Planes with retractable flaps, gear, and controllable pitch propellers are now considered complex aircraft. If an airplane is complex and comes with an engine of more than 200 hp, pilots require endorsements for both high-performance and complex aircraft.
